Norway vs Brazil Sets Norsk Tipping Betting Record

Norway’s FIFA World Cup round-of-16 clash against Brazil became the most bet-on single event in Norsk Tipping’s history, with around 350,000 customers placing wagers on the match.

The record-breaking turnout highlights the growing excitement surrounding Norway’s World Cup campaign and marks a new milestone for the state-owned gaming operator.

Record-Breaking Interest

According to Norsk Tipping, the Norway–Brazil match attracted significantly more betting activity than any previous single sporting event on its platform.

The total nearly matched the 380,000 customers who placed bets across the entire UEFA Euro 2024, demonstrating the exceptional public interest generated by Norway’s World Cup run.

Second Record of the Tournament

The new record surpassed the previous benchmark set earlier in the tournament, when Norway’s group-stage match against France attracted approximately 250,000 bettors.

The knockout fixture against Brazil drew roughly 100,000 additional customers, reflecting increased engagement as Norway advanced through the competition.

World Cup Drives Betting Growth

Although Norsk Tipping did not disclose the total amount wagered, the company confirmed that betting turnover also reached an all-time high for a single event.

Since the start of the FIFA World Cup, around 600,000 customers have placed bets on tournament matches through the operator.

With Norway still competing, Norsk Tipping expects betting activity to remain strong as the World Cup enters its final stages.
