New data from Sensor Tower’s State of Mobile 2026 report highlights the rising influence of betting and sports-data apps across global mobile markets. Platforms tied to sportsbooks, fantasy sports, and live scores consistently rank among the fastest-growing apps in downloads, monthly active users (MAU), and in-app revenue, illustrating the convergence of sports media and regulated gambling ecosystems.
Score Platforms Drive Engagement Worldwide
Across regions, Flashscore dominates global sports engagement, leading MAU growth in Europe, Latin America, and parts of APAC. In France and Italy, the platform tops MAU metrics, while maintaining strong visibility in Spain and Germany. Latin American markets such as Brazil and Argentina show similar trends.
Alongside Flashscore, Sofascore strengthens the role of real-time data platforms in betting-adjacent ecosystems, particularly in Germany, Italy, and select APAC regions. These platforms act as gateways to betting engagement by combining live scores, statistics, and notifications with seamless user experience.
Betting Brands Expand Their Reach
Regulated sportsbook apps are increasingly visible in top download rankings. In Latin America, Betano ranks high in Brazil and Mexico, while bet365 maintains strong positions in Spain and the UK. In North America, FanDuel and DraftKings continue to capture downloads and MAU growth through integrated sportsbook-and-media offerings.
Fantasy Sports Fuel APAC Growth
Fantasy sports apps are key growth drivers in APAC, especially Dream11 in India, ranking at the top globally for downloads and MAU growth. Similar apps are gaining traction across Southeast Asia and Australia, often complementing live-score and sportsbook platforms.
Revenue Trends Highlight Betting-Adjacent Models
Platforms with subscriptions, premium data access, and hybrid monetisation—such as fantasy sports and premium score apps—show stronger in-app revenue growth than advertising-led competitors, particularly in EMEA and APAC.
The Convergence of Sports and Betting
Sensor Tower’s 2025 insights confirm a clear trend: the most successful sports apps sit at the intersection of content, data, and betting engagement. Live scores, fantasy competitions, and regulated sportsbooks are no longer peripheral—they are central drivers of global sports app engagement, monetisation, and retention.
