GamCare Narrows Gender Pay Gap in 2024 Report

GamCare

Gender Pay Gap Improves
GamCare has published its 2024 Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap Report, showing continued progress in promoting fair pay within the organisation. One of the key highlights is a reduction in the mean gender pay gap from 6.14% in 2023 to 3.35% in 2024. The median gender pay gap remains steady at 5.78%.

This progress follows the introduction of a new pay framework in April 2023. The framework standardised pay across roles and ensured a clearer structure for salary progression.

GamCare also noted a more even spread of female employees across all salary levels. However, women still make up around two-thirds of the workforce – a trend commonly seen in the voluntary sector.

Ethnicity Pay Gap Shifts
While gender pay equality has improved, the report also shows changes in ethnic pay representation. In 2023, ethnic minority employees saw a small positive pay gap in their favour. However, in 2024, the mean ethnicity pay gap has shifted to 1.97% in favour of white colleagues. The median ethnicity pay gap also increased slightly to 4.75%.

Although these differences are still relatively small, GamCare recognises the need for further action to ensure fair representation and pay for all staff, regardless of ethnicity.

A Milestone Year for Reporting
This year’s report is especially notable as it marks the first time GamCare has been legally required to report its gender pay gap, following its growth to over 250 employees.

Commitment to Fairness
Commenting on the findings, Mark Weiss, GamCare’s Deputy CEO, said:
“As we move forward, GamCare’s focus will remain on refining our policies, improving representation at all levels and ensuring fair and transparent pay practices. We are proud of the progress we have made and remain dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone is treated equitably, with kindness, and where differences are embraced.”

GamCare’s continued transparency and focus on equality place it as a positive example within the voluntary sector.
