The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and Great British Racing (GBR) have launched the next phase of the HorsePWR campaign, aimed at increasing public awareness of racehorse welfare in the UK.
Campaign Runs Alongside Major Racing Events
The campaign runs from 24 February to 6 April, aligning with top events like the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National. It will feature across print, digital, billboards, and social media, with large displays in cities such as London, Bristol, Birmingham, and Liverpool.
Key ad locations include:
- Old Street Showcase (London)
- Barratt House (Liverpool)
- Bristol Towers
- Digital bus ads and online platforms
Aiming to Reassure the Public
Using powerful racehorse imagery and clear messages, the campaign highlights high welfare standards in the sport. It also directs viewers to the HorsePWR website, which explains how racehorses are cared for.
Industry Voices Support Transparency
Robin Mounsey (BHA) said:
“We’re investing in public communication like never before to show the high standards in British racing.”
Gabi Whitfield (GBR) added:
“We want to tackle misinformation and build public trust by showing our dedication to Thoroughbred care, from birth to retirement.”
More Plans to Come
This campaign marks a new step in racing’s public outreach, with more welfare-focused initiatives expected later this year.
