The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued a strong warning to the public, stating it has no affiliation with the online platform Casinowinner.io.
False Claims Exposed
According to the MGA, casinowinner.io falsely claims to hold a gaming licence from the authority. The MGA categorically denied this, calling the claims misleading and a threat to consumer trust.
Moreover, the regulator urged players to verify an operator’s licence status through official channels before participating in any gambling activities.
Risks of Unlicensed Operators
The MGA emphasized that licensed operators must meet strict regulatory standards designed to safeguard players. In contrast, unlicensed websites like casinowinner.io operate without oversight, putting players at risk of unfair practices, financial loss, and a lack of legal protection.
Ongoing Crackdown on Fraudulent Sites
This warning continues a broader effort by the MGA to combat false licensing claims.
For example, just last month, the authority flagged 17 unauthorised URLs linked to God55’s online casino, which had falsely advertised MGA and PAGCOR licences while targeting players across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Additionally, the MGA had recently issued another warning against multiple sites, including nagacash9x.com and several related domains, for falsely suggesting ties to the regulator.
