Philippine Creators Rally Behind Licensed iGaming Through New Platform

Philippine Flag

For years, the creator ecosystem expanded without a firm boundary. Now, one emerging platform is urging Filipino streamers to unite behind the licensed market and redefine the future of content in the iGaming space. This is set to transform the Philippine landscape significantly.

A new livestream project, YGS Live, is stepping into the centre of the Philippine iGaming scene with a clear mission: bring creators together, offer them a safer and more organised environment, and encourage them to support only PAGCOR-licensed operators. The initiative is led by esports veteran Julius Mariano, better known as Banoobs, who has long been an influential voice in local gaming.

A Turning Point for the Creator Economy

The timing is deliberate. The creator economy has grown rapidly, and not all of that expansion has aligned with regulated operators. As unlicensed content gained visibility, it created challenges around compliance, player protection and credibility. YGS Live enters the picture with a different call: unify creators under a responsible, legally aligned ecosystem, especially within the Philippine market.

Uniting Streamers Under One Direction

Streamers who once worked freely across brands now face a choice. They can continue operating without guardrails, or they can join a community that prioritizes stability, transparency and long-term growth.

Positioned as a broadcast network for iGaming and entertainment, YGS Live aims to bring creators, operators and fans together under one structured environment. The platform promotes safe engagement, clear expectations and partnerships with licensed operators. For creators who want to expand their careers without risking regulatory issues, YGS Live offers a consistent and compliant path in the Philippine scene.

Mariano envisions Filipino streamers becoming global contributors to the iGaming world. That vision relies on one non-negotiable rule: creators must promote only regulated and approved operators. Anything outside that framework weakens both the industry and the trust of the audience.

Why Responsible Content Matters More Than Ever

Influencers now play a direct role in shaping player behaviour. With that influence comes the responsibility to guide audiences toward safer choices rather than amplify risky ones.

Because of this, YGS Live places responsible iGaming at the heart of its platform. It treats responsible promotion as a shared obligation, not a marketing slogan. Creators are encouraged to educate players, break harmful patterns and foster a safer, more predictable gaming environment in the Philippine context.

As iGaming engagement grows across the Philippines, content that blends entertainment with unlicensed promotion has also multiplied. YGS Live wants to narrow that gap and ensure visibility flows toward the legal ecosystem—not the illegal one.

Major Tournament to Unite Licensed-Only Creators

To give the movement momentum, YGS Live is launching an international tournament: Battle of the Streamers. The event carries an ₱11 million prize pool, begins 15 November with weekly Saturday matches, and concludes with a live final at City of Dreams Manila in January.

Participation comes with a firm requirement—only creators who support PAGCOR-licensed platforms may compete. This rule reinforces the platform’s core purpose: strengthening the licensed market while distancing creators from unregulated operators.

For creators, the tournament delivers visibility backed by legitimacy. For operators, it provides a reliable promotional channel that aligns with national regulations.

Countering the Influence of Illegal Operators

The creator landscape now faces a defining line. Streamers can chase easy reach by working with unlicensed platforms, or they can build credibility and sustainability through legal partnerships.

Mariano stresses that YGS Live exists to discourage ties with illegal operators, not only for regulatory reasons but also to protect audience trust. Unlicensed brands often generate confusion and expose viewers to unnecessary risks, ultimately harming the reputation of the entire industry.

By offering creators a regulated environment to grow, YGS Live aims to create a new cultural standard—one where visibility and community engagement strengthen the legal market instead of undermining it within the Philippine sector.

A Potential Shift Led by Filipino Creators

Whether this movement can influence the broader creator landscape remains to be seen. However, the intention is unmistakable. A shift toward responsibility is taking shape, and the Philippines could become one of the first regions where creators lead the transition toward licensed iGaming promotion.

The next few months will reveal whether this unified push can pull the wider community toward compliance and set a long-lasting example for the region.
