The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the UAE has issued new gaming licenses to key global players, including Austria-based Novomatic and US-based EQL Games. This move signals the UAE’s ongoing efforts to develop a regulated commercial gaming and lottery market.
Novomatic is now licensed to offer land-based gaming solutions across the UAE. The company aims to be a trusted partner for licensed operators, delivering high-performance gaming experiences for international players.
EQL Games, a Kentucky-based lottery technology provider, also received a license on April 10. The company plans to launch premium lottery games on regulated UAE platforms, supporting innovation and responsible gaming.
Meanwhile, The Game LLC, the UAE’s official lottery operator, has partnered with North America’s Xpoint to provide geolocation services. This ensures that players can only access lottery content within permitted regions, aligning with local regulatory requirements. All data will be securely stored within the UAE using private cloud solutions.
These developments come as the UAE prepares for the launch of its first commercial casino resort, Wynn Al Marjan Island. Backed by $2.4 billion in financing, the resort’s construction is already 64% structurally complete, with full completion expected in the coming years.
