Women’s sports, especially football, are experiencing an unprecedented rise in Brazil. A recent Deloitte report projects that female-led competitions — driven largely by football and basketball — could generate R$13.3 billion in 2025. This surge reflects a broader cultural shift: fans and bettors are increasingly drawn to women’s competitions that offer both intensity and entertainment.
Additionally, a study by Grupo Globo and Offerwise reveals a major milestone for the market. Women’s football now ranks as Brazil’s second-most bet-on sport, capturing 31% of wagering interest — second only to men’s football at 76%. This shift highlights evolving consumption patterns among Brazilian bettors, who are embracing diversity in sports entertainment.
Bettors Adopt New Habits and Expand Their Interests
This changing scenario signals new opportunities for industry stakeholders. Anderson Nunes, Head of Business at Casa de Apostas, emphasized that the rise of women’s football in betting charts “clearly shows a new behavior from the public.” According to him, punters are aligning their preferences with sports that resonate with modern entertainment trends.
Moreover, this transformation benefits operators by encouraging more diversified strategies. Women’s football now enjoys a stronger perception as a solid, commercially viable, and rapidly growing market.
Sponsorship data supports that outlook. In 2025, Corinthians, winners of both the Brasileirão Feminino and Copa Libertadores Feminina, secured strong betting brand support — including a major partnership with Esportes da Sorte.
Innovation and New Markets Fuel Industry Expansion
The momentum behind women’s sports is also propelling innovation across betting platforms. Alex Rose, CEO of InPlaySoft, explained that the rapid development of the sector has inspired the creation of new betting markets, enabling operators to reach new customer segments.
Furthermore, he stressed that this shift reflects not only commercial growth but also a rising cultural appreciation for women’s athletic performances, which are increasingly celebrated on the global stage.
Copa do Brasil Feminina Final in the Spotlight
The return of the Copa do Brasil Feminina this season has intensified excitement. On Thursday, the 20th, Ferroviária and Palmeiras will clash at the Arena Fonte Luminosa at 15:30 for the title.
Both clubs arrive with major backing from betting operators:
• Palmeiras — Sportingbet
• Ferroviária — Galera.bet
Their paths to the final were hard-fought. Palmeiras overcame São Paulo, while Ferroviária defeated Bahia. Historically, the rivalry is balanced: in 23 matches, Palmeiras won 9, Ferroviária 8, while 6 ended in draws.
Financial incentives are also significant:
• Each finalist has already earned R$100,000
• The champion will take home R$1 million
• The runner-up will receive R$500,000
Ferroviária will host the decisive match after winning the CBF draw.
Gauchão Feminino: A Powerful Regional Showcase
Women’s football continues to thrive at the regional level as well. Grêmio and Juventude, both sponsored by betting companies, are battling for the Gauchão Feminino title in Rio Grande do Sul.
Notably, Juventude — supported by Stake — returned to the final after 17 years. Their resurgence includes major infrastructure investments since reactivating the women’s department in 2021. The club now offers professional-level facilities, from exclusive training spaces to full athletic support.
Team coordinator Renata Armiliato praised the progress:
“What we achieved this year is a direct result of the advances that the club has made. We went from an amateur team to a fully professional group.”
Grêmio won the first leg 3–0 in Caxias do Sul. Meanwhile, the final decision will take place on Sunday (23), where the title will be settled.
