Sportradar Extends DFB Data and Streaming Rights Deal

Sportradar Group has signed a multi-year extension of its data and audiovisual (AV) betting rights agreement with the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB), the governing body of German football. The deal strengthens Sportradar’s position in global soccer data distribution and betting content.

Originally secured through Sportradar’s 2025 acquisition of IMG ARENA, the rights now expand to include exclusive data and streaming betting rights for the prestigious DFB-Pokal. These rights apply worldwide outside the DACH region. Meanwhile, there are also non-exclusive global media data rights.

Expanding Data and Fan Engagement

Under the renewed agreement, Sportradar will introduce skeletal data for the first time in the DFB-Pokal. This enhancement is designed to power more engaging fan products. It aligns with similar innovations already delivered for major competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, and the NBA.

The deal also marks the first direct agreement between Sportradar and DFB specifically for the cup competition. It will take effect from the 2026/2027 season, covering all 63 DFB-Pokal matches each year. The two organizations have previously collaborated on content production and editorial services, further strengthening their long-standing relationship.

Driving Innovation in Sports Betting

Sportradar continues to leverage advanced technology and artificial intelligence to transform the betting experience. By combining deep sports data with proprietary AI, the company develops dynamic betting products such as micro markets and live player markets. These innovations enable sportsbook operators to enhance engagement. They also unlock new revenue streams.

The agreement comes at a time when global Gross Gaming Revenue in soccer betting is projected to grow significantly—by approximately 50% over the next four years. This positions Sportradar to support its clients in capturing greater market share. Clients benefit through more personalized and immersive experiences.

Leadership and Strategic Vision

Commenting on the deal, Moritz Gloeckler, EVP Rights and Strategic Projects at Sportradar, highlighted the importance of expanding the company’s soccer portfolio. He emphasized that with billions of football fans worldwide and partnerships with leading organizations such as FIFA, UEFA, AFC, Bundesliga, and CONMEBOL, Sportradar is well placed to deliver next-generation, technology-driven solutions for global audiences.

From the DFB side, Kay Dammholz, Director Media Rights at DFB GmbH & Co. KG, noted that the partnership enhances the international distribution of DFB-Pokal media rights. He added that the collaboration ensures professional and secure global distribution of betting streaming rights outside the DACH region. Furthermore, it maintains high standards of integrity and maximizes commercial opportunities.

Global Reach and Market Presence

Sportradar works with more than 100 soccer organizations worldwide and operates one of the largest sports data ecosystems in the industry. The company distributes live data and audiovisual content to a network of 800 sportsbook operators. It also serves 1,500 media partners globally.

Its coverage spans over 900 leagues worldwide, offering approximately 150,000 pre-match markets and 105,000 in-play markets each year. This extensive portfolio continues to reinforce Sportradar’s role as a leading provider of sports data and betting solutions in the global market.
