Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has been officially recognised by Uzbekistan’s National Agency of Perspective Projects (NAPP) as an accepted testing and certification laboratory for the country’s regulated gaming market. Moreover, the listing allows operators and suppliers to use GLI certification reports when seeking to introduce gaming products in Uzbekistan.
GLI Supports Uzbekistan’s Emerging Market
GLI said Uzbekistan’s regulated gaming sector is entering its operational phase, with four licences already issued to two operators. Furthermore, the company described the country as an emerging gaming market in Central Asia. Authorities continue to establish the framework for regulated gaming.
Lucas Zavarise, GLI’s government and regulatory affairs manager for EMEIA, said the company was among the first testing laboratories. GLI’s certification reports are accepted under Uzbekistan’s new regulatory framework.
He added that the recognition would allow GLI to apply its international regulatory experience. This will help as Uzbekistan develops a controlled and sustainable gaming market.
Regulatory Framework Continues to Develop
GLI representatives met with NAPP officials earlier in August to discuss the country’s new regulatory framework. In addition, they explored how the testing and consultancy group could support its long-term development.
However, some elements of Uzbekistan’s technical gaming standards are still being established. GLI said it remains in discussions with NAPP as the regulator continues refining the framework.
The recognition provides operators and gaming suppliers with an established route for testing and certification as the market develops. It also highlights the growing importance of technical compliance and independent testing as Uzbekistan builds its regulated gaming sector.
With licensing activity already underway, GLI’s inclusion in the approved testing framework could support the market’s transition from regulatory development. This may lead to broader commercial operations.
