BGaming has brought its WE CARE. WE ACT sustainability initiative to Portugal, combining lower-impact event practices with community and environmental projects in Lisbon.
Recycled Materials Reduce Event Waste
At SBC Summit, BGaming used recycled materials for its stand and replaced traditional brochures with recyclable cards featuring QR codes. The approach helped the company avoid printing around 16 kg of paper.
The supplier also offered merchandise made from organic cotton, along with custom poker sets produced from 100% recycled plastic. More than 95% of the plastic used in the sets came from post-consumer waste, while BGaming’s carabiners used 7 kg of recycled plastic.
BGaming Supports Lisbon Beach Cleanup
Following the event, the BGaming team joined a beach cleanup organised by the Lisbon Oceanarium. Over two hours, the team collected 2 kg of plastic and 1 kg of cigarette butts.
The activity formed part of the company’s broader effort to turn its sustainability commitments into direct community action.
Partnership Promotes Plastic Education
BGaming also partnered with Porto-based VIVA Lab to support its Precious Plastic and Plastic Play educational projects.
Through 10 activities, the programme will give up to 240 students hands-on experience with plastic reuse and transformation. The initiative expects to process approximately 60–70 kg of polypropylene while introducing students to sustainability and the circular economy.
Kate Puteiko, CMO at BGaming, said the company wanted to contribute to Portugal while participating in the country’s major iGaming industry event.
Alexandra Baltazar, Chief Education Officer at VIVA Lab Porto, said the partnership would help the organisation reach more young people through practical sustainability education. The partners also plan to develop a manual that could allow similar activities to be replicated across Europe.
