FairPlay Sports Media has unveiled Teammate, a new AI assistant designed to help football fans make smarter betting decisions. The tool is currently in beta on WhoScored.com, one of FairPlay’s affiliate brands.
The company claims Teammate will be the first AI of its kind in sports betting. While WhoScored already provides statistical data to football supporters, Teammate aims to deliver deeper insights by combining natural language interaction with predictive sports analysis.
Powered by Google’s Gemini, the assistant uses its recognisable interface but tailors responses to focus on sports data. Users can ask natural language questions, and Teammate will transform them into actionable insights, forecasts, and even highlight relevant betting opportunities.
FairPlay Group CEO Stuart Simms said: “There’s not been a truly bespoke assistant service that suits the needs of sports bettors and data-hungry fans. Teammate combines our expertise in sporting insight with Google Gemini’s conversational delivery to offer just that.”
Alongside text-based insights, Teammate also delivers data visualisations to make analysis clearer. Currently in beta, the tool will later launch as a white-label product, allowing partner apps and websites to integrate it directly.
FairPlay recently strengthened its leadership team with new appointments: Jerome Underhill as COO and Andrew Smith as CFO, reflecting its focus on product expansion.
The company said Teammate supports its mission to “level the playing field against the sportsbook” by empowering users with accessible, data-driven insights. At the same time, it creates new monetisation opportunities for platforms that adopt the tool.
