Fennica Gaming, a subsidiary of Veikkaus, has received a gaming vendor licence in the UAE. The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) granted the licence, allowing Fennica to offer its games-as-a-service products to licensed operators in the country.
This move marks another milestone in Fennica’s international expansion. The supplier now operates across three continents and 15 countries. Most recently, Fennica obtained a B2B licence in Greece from the Hellenic Gambling Commission.
Scientific Games was the most recent company before Fennica to receive a UAE gaming vendor licence. It will provide lottery products in the region.
Timo Kiiskinen, Managing Director of Fennica Gaming, commented:
“Receiving the gaming-related vendor licence from the GCGRA is a significant step for Fennica Gaming as we continue to grow our global presence. The UAE represents a dynamic new market and a chance for us to expand into a new continent. We are excited to contribute to the development of its regulated gaming sector with our trusted and innovative solutions.”
The UAE gaming market is attracting increasing attention. In July 2024, The Game LLC received the nation’s first official gaming licence. Then, in October 2024, Wynn Resorts followed, building on its earlier announcement and casino resort development plans dating back to 2022.
Meanwhile, other global suppliers such as Aristocrat, Novomatic, and IGT have also entered the UAE. Industry experts believe this surge in interest is well justified. According to Gambling Insider’s Asia Focus report, the UAE’s gaming market could one day rival Macau in size and profitability.
With its latest licence, Fennica Gaming strengthens its position as a trusted, globally compliant gaming provider ready to tap into new, regulated frontiers.
