
Spain’s online gambling market continues to grow, fueled by a strong performance in casino and betting segments. In Q3 2025, gross gaming revenue (GGR) reached €405.36 million, up 16.49% compared to the same period last year, according to the General Directorate for Gambling Regulation (DGOJ).
Player Activity and Deposits Increase
Player deposits rose 18.19% year-on-year, with withdrawals up 16.82%. Compared to Q2 2025, deposits were nearly flat, while withdrawals increased 2.7%. New account registrations grew 16.82% year-on-year but fell 2.7% from the previous quarter.
Marketing and Promotional Spend on the Rise
Total marketing expenditure reached €154.84 million, up 17.89% year-on-year. Promotional spending increased 23.47% to €82.03 million, with €28.57 million allocated to bonus prizes and €53.46 million for non-prize promotions. Affiliate marketing grew 19.77% to €15.86 million, and advertising rose 8.42% to €54.65 million.
Casino Segment Leads Growth
The online casino market represented 56.98% of Spain’s online gambling sector, with GGR of €230.97 million, up 22.93% year-on-year. Slot machines drove growth with a 27.78% increase, followed by live roulette (+4.2%). Traditional roulette and blackjack declined 8% and 3.22%, respectively.
Sports Betting Trends
Sports betting made up 36.88% of the market. While down 13.02% quarter-on-quarter, it grew 10% year-on-year. Live betting surged 32.82% compared to the previous quarter, while conventional fixed-odds sports betting dropped 42.98%. Other fixed-odds betting rose 23.85%, and fixed-odds horse racing declined 9.07%.
Performance of Other Games
Bingo accounted for 5.36% of the market, down 5.92% from Q2 and 13.48% year-on-year. Poker experienced growth, increasing 13.59% quarter-on-quarter and 5.8% year-on-year.

Spain’s online gambling industry remains casino-driven, with slot machines and live games attracting the most engagement. Sports betting and bingo face mixed results, highlighting an evolving market where operators focus on player retention and promotional strategies.
