Lottery.com confirmed that the civil lawsuit filed by Dawn Nettles in Texas has been voluntarily dismissed. The notice was filed on May 30, 2025, in Business Court Division 11a.
Nettles withdrew her claims without prejudice, effectively ending the case while leaving the option to refile later. The case initially started in the 333rd District Court in Harris County before being transferred.
She had accused Lottery.com of misconduct related to its operations in Texas. The company denied the allegations, saying it followed all legal and regulatory requirements.
The dismissal came under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 162. This rule allows plaintiffs to drop lawsuits before a judge or jury hears them, without needing court approval.
Gregory Potts, COO of Lottery.com, commented:
“We believe the voluntary dismissal shows a lack of evidence. We fully cooperated with all investigations into the April 2023 Lotto Texas drawing. To my knowledge, no finding of wrongdoing was ever made against us.”
Potts also stated that continuing the legal battle would have distracted the company from growth plans and investor interests.
This update comes as Lottery.com pursues a broader relaunch strategy. The company raised $18 million in late 2023 to support its turnaround. It has since focused on brand activation and rebuilding its market presence.
Most recently, Lottery.com sponsored IndyCar drivers Callum Ilott and Louis Foster at the 2025 Indianapolis 500. The sponsorship ran through both Lottery.com and Sports.com platforms.
As the company moves ahead, it remains committed to transparency, regulatory compliance, and delivering value to its investors.
