Industry Coordination Under Sindbet/SP
Sports betting and online gaming operators in São Paulo are creating a new trade union to boost their representation and engagement with regulatory and government bodies.
Called the Union of Betting Operators and Online Games of the State of São Paulo (Sindbet/SP), the group will coordinate industry positions and facilitate dialogue with authorities.
Membership Requirements
Companies wishing to join must prove their operations in São Paulo. Required documents include corporate registration, evidence of legal representation, and proof linking them to betting or online gaming activities.
Context of Regulatory Change
This initiative comes as Brazil’s gambling sector undergoes significant changes, moving toward greater regulation, growth, and formal organization.
The assembly’s call was signed by representatives from Sol Serviços de Intermediação, Betboom, and Stake Brazil.
Good to know: Brazilian football clubs oppose strict limits on betting ads, warning that such restrictions could damage sponsorship revenues.
Meeting Details and Agenda
The inaugural assembly will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join either in person or online.
On the agenda are the official foundation of the union, approval of its statute, election of the first executive board and fiscal council, and defining the union’s territorial scope.
