Sportradar Group AG has officially obtained a gaming-related vendor license from the United Arab Emirates’ General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). This marks a key milestone in the company’s global expansion. The approval allows Sportradar to deliver its sports data, technology, and integrity solutions to licensed operators across the UAE.
Established in 2023, the GCGRA serves as the federal body overseeing all forms of commercial gaming and national lotteries. Its latest approval signals the UAE’s steady progress toward developing a regulated gaming framework that emphasizes compliance, transparency, and integrity.
Expanding Global Reach
This new authorization adds the UAE to Sportradar’s expanding portfolio of regulated markets worldwide. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company has seen steady momentum in 2025. Notably, there was a 17% revenue increase in the first quarter and continued double-digit growth in Q2.
In recent years, Sportradar has strengthened its global presence through long-term partnerships with major sports organizations, including UEFA and the NBA. These collaborations focus on data analytics, integrity monitoring, and AI-driven technology for enhanced betting experiences.
Commitment to Compliance and Innovation
Commenting on the development, Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl reaffirmed the company’s commitment to aligning with local regulations. He also emphasized promoting responsible gaming. The new license allows Sportradar to deploy its advanced integrity systems in the UAE. These tools are designed to detect and prevent match-fixing and other irregularities in sports betting.
This expansion also aligns with the UAE’s broader economic diversification goals. With major integrated resort projects such as Wynn Al Marjan Island already under development in Ras Al Khaimah, the country is laying the groundwork for a regulated and transparent gaming ecosystem.
Strengthening the UAE’s Gaming Framework
The GCGRA’s recent licensing activity reflects a proactive approach to building a structured market grounded in international best practices. For Sportradar, this approval not only reinforces its credibility in regulated jurisdictions. It also positions the company to play a pivotal role in shaping the UAE’s future gaming landscape.
