Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has arrested 12 suspects and seized assets worth more than THB13 million (US$388,000) in a major operation targeting an alleged online gambling and money laundering network linked to FIFA World Cup betting.
The coordinated raids, carried out across Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and Tak, targeted the All Game 248 platform, which allegedly accepted wagers on the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside other gambling products.
Network Allegedly Processed $30M Monthly
Police said the platform had operated for around 18 months, with many users reportedly being school and university students.
According to CCIB investigators, financial records from the past three months showed the operation processed approximately THB1 billion (US$29.9 million) in monthly transactions.
Authorities allege the syndicate laundered funds through more than 200 mule accounts, using illegal payment gateways, company-registered accounts, and foreign nationals to conceal financial activity.
Raids and Arrests
Searches at five properties uncovered around THB3 million (US$89,600) in cash, 20 bank passbooks, electronic devices, and led to the freezing of an additional THB10 million (US$299,000) held in bank accounts.
Among those arrested was a former secretary to the president of a provincial administrative organization, who police allege managed the conversion of gambling proceeds into cryptocurrency worth at least THB500 million (US$14.9 million) per month.
The 12 suspects include the former political aide, cash couriers, mule-account holders, and individuals accused of opening corporate mule accounts. Authorities said arrest warrants have been issued for 15 people, with three suspects still at large.
Investigation Continues
The suspects face charges related to illegal online gambling and money laundering. Police are working with Thailand’s Anti-Money Laundering Office to trace additional financial assets and identify the network’s principal beneficiaries.
The operation forms part of Thailand’s nationwide crackdown on illegal betting activities during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
