UKGC Restores Spribe Licence After Hosting Compliance Fix

Spribe OÜ has been cleared to re-enter the UK market after the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) officially lifted the suspension of its gambling software licence. This ends a five-month regulatory stoppage. The reinstatement took effect on 30 March 2026. Now, the supplier can resume providing gambling facilities under its UK authorisation.

The UKGC confirmed the decision in its update, stating: “The Licensee is now permitted to provide gambling facilities in reliance on its gambling software licence.”

Suspension Lifted After Five-Month Shutdown

The UKGC suspended the licence on 30 October 2025 under Section 118(2) of the Gambling Act 2005, citing “serious non-compliance” with hosting requirements. The Commission instructed Spribe to stop all hosting activity immediately. Spribe was required to wait until it secured the necessary approval.

At the time, the regulator also reminded the company that offering gambling facilities without the correct licensing status could constitute a criminal offence under Section 33 of the Gambling Act.

Hosting Requirements at the Core of the Case

According to the UKGC, the issue did not involve game integrity or product fairness. Instead, it involved a breach of the UK’s regulatory framework governing how and where gambling software operators host their systems. Hosting rules remain one of the UK’s strictest compliance areas. This is because they directly affect security, audit access, and oversight of regulated gambling platforms.

Spribe Says Issue Was a “Technical Mix-Up”

Spribe said a technical licensing oversight caused the issue. The company admitted it mistakenly operated without an additional hosting authorisation required alongside its remote operating licence.

A spokesperson stated that the supplier was taking the issue seriously and working to resolve it quickly. Spribe also stressed that it had held a UK remote operating licence since late 2020. The company maintained compliance through audits, regulatory submissions, and ongoing communication with the Commission.

Aviator Still Missing From UK Casinos

Despite the reinstatement, Aviator, Spribe’s flagship crash game, has not yet returned to UK-facing casino platforms. Reports indicated that the title remained unavailable 72 hours after regulators lifted the suspension, suggesting that operator integrations and relaunch approvals may still be underway.

Return to Market, But Operational Recovery Still Ongoing

While Spribe’s regulatory clearance marks a major step toward full UK reactivation, the delayed return of Aviator indicates the supplier may still be navigating technical rollout processes. In addition, operator-level compliance checks and platform updates may be needed before its full portfolio is live again in the UK market.
