Formula 1 Names Betway First Official Betting Partner

Formula One has announced a multi-year partnership with Betway, making the bookmaker the first official betting partner in the championship’s history.

The agreement will take effect at the start of the 2026 Formula 1 season and will cover key markets including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and Mexico.

As part of the deal, ALT Sports Data will serve as the official betting data supplier, delivering real-time predictive analytics and proprietary odds built from Formula 1’s historical and live race data.

Live Betting Powered by Race Data

The partnership will introduce data-driven live betting opportunities, allowing fans to place wagers on key race developments using official Formula 1 data feeds.

Millions of data points generated during each race—such as lap times, tyre performance, strategy decisions, and weather conditions—will power betting markets on the Betway platform.

Available markets may include:

  • Safety car deployments
  • Pit stop windows and race strategies
  • On-track battles between drivers
  • Major race developments influenced by team tactics

Using official data aims to ensure betting odds reflect accurate real-time race information.

Data-Driven Fan Engagement Strategy

According to Jonny Haworth, the partnership represents a new step in fan engagement through data and regulated betting.

He noted that Formula 1’s vast and complex data ecosystem allows fans to connect more deeply with the strategic elements that shape race outcomes.

The collaboration also arrives ahead of the 2026 season, which will introduce new technical regulations designed to drive innovation and competition across the sport.

Betway Expands Presence in Global Sports

Neal Menashe, the parent company of Betway, described the deal as a major milestone for the betting brand.

He said the partnership will allow Betway customers to access new betting markets and real-time race insights, particularly during Formula 1 race weekends.

The agreement highlights the growing convergence of sports data, digital engagement, and sports betting, especially in major global competitions such as Formula 1.
