Flutter Entertainment Targets 34% Profit Growth in 2025 Amid U.S. Gambling Boom

Flutter Gambling

Flutter Entertainment, the world’s largest online betting company and owner of FanDuel, is set to achieve a projected 34% increase in core profit for 2025. This growth follows a strong 26% rise in 2024, largely fueled by the surging U.S. sports betting and iGaming markets.

U.S. Market Expansion Driving Growth

The Irish-founded gambling giant continues to capitalize on the expanding U.S. market, where FanDuel leads with a 43% share in sports betting and a 26% share in iGaming as of Q4 2024. CEO Peter Jackson remains confident that the company’s growth trajectory will persist despite macroeconomic challenges, including new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on Canada and Mexico.

“Historically, our business has proven resilient in challenging economic conditions. We remain confident that our growth will continue even in the face of global economic shifts,” Jackson told Reuters.

Record Super Bowl Bets and Profit Outlook

Flutter reported a record number of bets placed during the Super Bowl, reinforcing its dominant market position. The company projects adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for 2025 to range between $2.94 billion and $3.38 billion, surpassing its record $2.36 billion in 2024.

The U.S. sector alone is expected to generate between $1.28 billion and $1.52 billion in EBITDA—marking an impressive 176% year-over-year increase at the midpoint. Flutter previously forecasted that its U.S. earnings would reach $2.5 billion by 2027.

International Operations and Strategic Moves

Beyond the U.S., Flutter anticipates core profits of $1.75 billion to $1.95 billion from other key markets, including its Paddy Power, Betfair, and Sportsbet brands. Despite foreign currency fluctuations and mixed sports betting results in 2024, the company expects a 10% growth in these markets when adjusted for external economic factors.

Looking ahead, Flutter is also setting its sights on Italy’s national lottery, preparing a bid to secure the lucrative license. Expanding its presence in Italy aligns with the company’s strategic efforts to strengthen its global footprint.

Conclusion

With a stronghold in the U.S. sports betting and iGaming industries, Flutter Entertainment is well-positioned for another year of robust financial performance. As the online gambling sector continues to expand, Flutter’s market dominance and strategic moves will likely drive sustained profitability in 2025 and beyond.
