The Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) has revoked the remote gambling licence of Multigioco SRL following repeated financial and compliance breaches.
On 1 August, the operator was given 20 days to resolve outstanding financial obligations. That deadline has since passed, and ADM has now made public the document confirming the concession’s lapse.
According to the regulator, Multigioco failed to pay taxes, penalty fees, concession costs, interest, and contributions to the Sport Rescue Fund. The ADM also cited numerous player complaints about unpaid account balances. In its ruling, the regulator stated that the company had “profoundly undermined the relationship of trust with the Administration.”
The licence revocation is expected to lead to further criminal proceedings.
Multigioco was previously owned by Elys BMG Group, which has shifted focus to the US market. They are now operating a sportsbook at The Ugly Mug bar in Washington, D.C. In 2023, Elys Game Technology relaunched Multigioco under the Newgioco brand. However, they later agreed to sell the platform to an undisclosed buyer. The Newgioco website now appears to be offline.
