The Brazil Ministry of Finance has announced a public consultation on the regulation of betting service providers in the country. Running from February 4 to March 23, 2026, the consultation invites individuals and legal entities to submit feedback. They can do so through the Brasil Participativo Portal.
The consultation will inform the drafting of the Ordinance on Recognition of Operational Capacity. This ordinance sets technical and operational standards for betting suppliers working with regulated operators in Brazil. Furthermore, submissions will be reviewed under Brazilian legislation, including Law No. 13,756/2018, Law No. 14,790/2023, and Decree No. 12,002/2024.
Daniele Correa Cardoso, acting substitute secretary of the SPA, signed the official notice published in the Official Gazette of the Union. The consultation comes after Regis Dudena, former SPA head, moved to serve as Secretary of Economic Reforms. He led the launch of regulated sports betting and online gaming in Brazil.
This public consultation represents a key step in Brazil’s regulated betting industry. It helps define clear operational standards for sports betting suppliers and ensures a safe and compliant market for operators and players alike.
