The Cambodian Interior Ministry has strongly refuted reports from Thai outlet Khaosod English. The reports claimed that Thai Marines seized Cambodian arms at Thmor Da Casino.
A ministry spokesperson clarified that the images and locations cited in the article do not correspond to Thmor Da Casino, The Khmer Times reported. Instead, the site is “Gate 56 of Border Patrol Police,” part of Border Protection Police Battalion 825 under the Pursat Provincial Police. It is entirely on Cambodian soil.
The ministry condemned the circulation of misleading information. They cited Paragraph 8 of the Joint Statement from the Special General Border Committee (GBC) meeting between Cambodia and Thailand on December 27, 2025. That agreement emphasizes avoiding false reports to maintain constructive dialogue.
Claiming weapons were seized from a Cambodian police facility, the ministry said, constitutes a violation of sovereignty. It urged Thailand to take responsibility under international law. The ministry also called for Thailand to cease aggressive actions and adhere to the Joint Statement principles. This promotes peaceful resolution, mutual respect, and trust.
