Curaçao Sets B2B Supplier Compliance Deadline

The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has clarified the supplier licensing and registration requirements that will become fully enforceable on December 24, 2026, when the two-year transitional period under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK) comes to an end.

In an announcement published on June 24, 2026, the regulator outlined separate obligations for suppliers based in Curaçao and those operating from overseas.

Local and Foreign Suppliers Face Different Rules

Suppliers established in Curaçao that provide critical services or goods to licensed gaming operators must obtain a valid CGA supplier license and register with the authority.

Foreign suppliers are not required to hold a Curaçao supplier license. However, they must complete registration with the CGA by December 24, 2026, if they provide critical services or goods to holders of a Curaçao gaming license.

The registration process for both local and international suppliers is expected to open in October 2026.

Operators Must Verify Supplier Registration

The LOK also places obligations on licensed operators.

Under Article 5.16(4), holders of a CGA gaming license may not engage suppliers that the authority has not registered. Article 5.16(1) also requires the regulator to maintain a public register of approved suppliers.

The CGA said critical services and goods include:

  • RNG game providers
  • Live dealer studio providers
  • Poker and peer-to-peer software suppliers
  • Lottery platform providers
  • Sportsbook software providers
  • Bet capture and settlement providers
  • Sports betting odds and data providers
  • Game aggregators

The authority noted that this list is illustrative and may be expanded in the future.

September Application Deadline for Local Suppliers

The CGA has advised Curaçao-based suppliers that have not yet applied for a supplier license to submit their applications through the CGA Online Gaming Portal by September 1, 2026.

The regulator said the early deadline will provide sufficient time to process applications before the transitional period expires in December.

New LOK Framework Nears Full Implementation

The National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK) came into force in 2024, introducing a comprehensive overhaul of Curaçao’s gaming regulatory framework.

The December 24, 2026 deadline marks a significant compliance milestone for the jurisdiction’s B2B sector. After the transition period ends, both domestic and international suppliers must meet the applicable CGA requirements, while licensed operators will be responsible for ensuring their technology and service partners are properly registered before continuing their business relationships.
