DigiPlus Interactive Corp. CEO Eusebio Tanco says the company is prepared to adapt and innovate despite possible challenges to the Philippines’ online gaming industry.
Speaking with The Philippine Star, Tanco acknowledged that a potential ban on online gaming could affect business, but stressed that DigiPlus is already diversifying its offerings. The company’s flagship platforms — BingoPlus and ArenaPlus — have attracted over 40 million registered users. Yet Tanco is steering the business toward broader entertainment.
“We’re creating a whole ecosystem of entertainment, not just gaming,” he said.
The ArenaPlus app now streams live sports, while BingoPlus features local and international short dramas. DigiPlus also has plans to expand overseas, with upcoming launches in Brazil and South Africa.
While hopeful that an outright ban will not materialize, Tanco advocates for “strong and fair regulation” over blanket prohibitions.
“By working with regulators and lawmakers, we can protect consumers and maintain the integrity of the market,” he explained, adding that proper oversight should ensure player safety and operator accountability.
