DigiPlus Joins Working Group to Shape Philippines’ iGaming Regulations

Supporting a Stronger Regulatory Framework

Philippine-listed online gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corp has joined a technical working group tasked with drafting new legislation to elevate standards for the country’s iGaming sector. The initiative, led by the Senate and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), aims to enhance consumer protection, transparency, and overall industry compliance.

Focus on Compliance and Player Safety

DigiPlus highlighted that the collaboration will implement tighter controls over payment channels and marketing activities, ensuring a fair, secure, and regulated gaming environment. Chairman Eusebio Tanco emphasized the importance of maintaining high compliance standards to preserve industry benefits such as job creation and tax revenues for the Philippines.

Proactive Measures in the Philippines

DigiPlus operates BingoPlus, the country’s first government-approved online bingo platform, alongside ArenaPlus sportsbook and GameZone casual gaming platform. The company has introduced initiatives to improve player protection, including a surety bond program and expanded physical payment options via Bayad and Pay&Go partnerships.

Exploring Prediction Markets

DigiPlus is also investigating the potential of prediction markets in the Philippines. While such platforms are considered legal gambling under Philippine law only if licensed by Pagcor, the company is in preliminary discussions with regulators about developing this segment. DigiPlus president Andy Tsui described the initiative as a long-term opportunity to diversify offerings while remaining fully compliant.

Looking Ahead

By actively participating in the regulatory working group, DigiPlus aims to help establish a sustainable, well-regulated iGaming industry in the Philippines, ensuring that players, operators, and the government can all benefit from a secure and transparent market.
