DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is preparing to return customer funds following Brazil’s suspension of fixed-odds betting. Meanwhile, the Philippine gaming company says the measure is not expected to materially affect its overall financial or operational position.
In a September 28 statement, DigiPlus said it is prioritising customer withdrawals. The company also said it will follow the timetable established by the Brazilian government. Moreover, the company described the regulatory situation as ongoing and said it will continue monitoring legal and legislative developments.
Brazil Suspends Fixed-Odds Betting
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed a provisional measure on September 25 prohibiting the operation, offering, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds betting in Brazil.
The measure covers sports betting and online games, including activities previously authorised at federal, state and Federal District levels. It took immediate effect but requires congressional approval to remain permanently in force.
New customer deposits were prohibited from September 25. Players have until 11:59 p.m. on October 5 to withdraw their remaining balances voluntarily.
Operators Face October Shutdown
Licensed betting websites and mobile applications must stop operating from October 6.
For balances that customers do not withdraw before the deadline, financial institutions must process refunds between October 9 and October 14. DigiPlus said it is working to comply with the government’s requirements. In addition, the company will ensure customers receive their funds within the prescribed timeframe.
The company did not identify a material impact on its financial or operating position. However, it acknowledged that the regulatory process remains subject to further legal and legislative developments.
Brazil Was DigiPlus’ First Overseas Market
Brazil represented DigiPlus’ first international market. The company launched a soft version of its GamePlus platform on September 22, 2025.
DigiPlus paused the platform less than three weeks later, on October 10. The company said it needed additional time to develop products suited to Brazilian players.
The latest government measure now prevents fixed-odds betting operators from continuing commercial activity under the previous framework.
DigiPlus said it will comply with the directive and continue monitoring developments. Also, the company will manage customer withdrawals and refunds according to the government’s schedule.
