Esports Team Suspended for Alleged Breaches of Anti-Corruption Code

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has suspended Team Senza, also known as Rosy, from all ESIC Member Events and tournaments under the ESIC Integrity Program.

The interim suspension serves as a temporary measure while ESIC investigates alleged breaches of its Anti-Corruption Code and Code of Conduct. The move does not imply guilt, but it reflects the seriousness of the ongoing inquiry.

Investigation Details

ESIC is examining several potential violations, including the use of prohibited outside information during matches, betting-related misconduct, and account-sharing or identity irregularities.

Team Senza, a Russia-based esports team that primarily competes in Rocket League, previously operated under a different name before SENZA Esports acquired it last year.

The commission has notified all current players, coaches, and staff about the suspension and requested supporting information and materials from each party involved.

Context and Broader Implications

Esports wagering continues to grow rapidly, especially among Gen Z audiences. During SiGMA Euro-Med in Malta, Moritz Maurer highlighted how esports offers more frequent wagering opportunities than traditional sports — an aspect that raises both commercial and integrity concerns.

At this stage, ESIC has not confirmed what disciplinary action it might impose if evidence supports the allegations. The commission’s authority relies on voluntary compliance by ESIC Members and event organizers who adopt its Integrity Program.

ESIC has not announced a timeline for the final verdict but confirmed it will issue a public statement once the investigation concludes.

Earlier this week, the organization welcomed Betby as its newest Tier 1 Anti-Corruption Partner, reinforcing its ongoing efforts to safeguard integrity within the global esports ecosystem.
