Esports World Cup 2026 to Award $75 Million

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced that the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC 2026) will feature an unprecedented $75 million total prize pool. This amount surpasses the $24 million awarded to the winner of the 2025 Copa Libertadores final.

The tournament will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 6 to August 23, spanning seven consecutive weeks. Additionally, matches will be hosted across multiple venues in the city. The event will welcome players and teams from around the world. As a result, it promises to be one of the largest esports events ever.

Massive Global Participation

EWC 2026 will feature more than 2,000 players and 200 teams from over 100 countries. They will compete across 25 tournaments and 24 game titles. Its multi-game, simultaneous competition format allows fans to follow several esports categories at once. Furthermore, multiple venues in Riyadh will provide diverse experiences for both in-person and virtual audiences.

EWC Club Championship Adds Strategic Depth

A standout feature of EWC 2026 is the EWC Club Championship, which crowns the best-performing esports club across all game titles. The top 24 teams will share $30 million, up $3 million from last year. The winning club will take home $7 million. This ranking system adds strategic significance to overall team performance. Therefore, it gives clubs more incentives to compete consistently across events.

Confirmed Games and New Additions

The official game lineup includes League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Valorant, EA Sports FC 26, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, and Street Fighter 6. New entries for 2026 are Fortnite and Trackmania. This expands the event’s appeal to broader audiences.

Audience Reach and Ticket Sales

EWC 2025 drew 750 million global viewers, with a peak of 7.98 million concurrent viewers and over 3 million attending in person in Riyadh. Tickets for the 2026 edition went on sale on January 22 via the tournament’s official website. This promises even bigger international engagement.

With a record-breaking prize pool, diverse game roster, and global fan base, EWC 2026 is set to redefine the scale and spectacle of competitive esports. Accordingly, it will further cement Riyadh as a premier destination for the esports world.
