Kalshi will provide prediction market data to CBS News as the network expands its coverage of the 2026 US midterm elections.
CBS News will integrate Kalshi’s real-time election market data alongside its existing Battleground Tracker and polling coverage. The partnership adds prediction market pricing as another data point for audiences following races for the House of Representatives and Senate.
Prediction Markets Add Real-Time Data
Unlike traditional polls, prediction markets continuously update as traders buy and sell contracts based on potential election outcomes. Prices can change as new information emerges, including candidate developments, debates, endorsements and campaign events.
Kalshi launched its 2026 Midterm Election Hub in July, combining market forecasts with polling, fundraising and historical election data. The platform says its election statistics update in real time as new information becomes available.
Kalshi Markets Track Key Races
Kalshi’s markets have recorded significant trading activity ahead of Election Day on November 3.
As of early October, Kalshi’s market priced a 65% chance of Democrats controlling the Senate and a 91% chance of Democrats controlling the House. These figures represent current market prices and can change as traders respond to new information.
Individual Senate races have also attracted substantial activity. Kalshi’s election markets currently include contests such as Maine, Texas, Florida and other closely watched races, with prices changing as campaign developments unfold.
Media Partnerships Expand
The CBS News agreement adds another major media organization to Kalshi’s growing network of data partnerships.
Kalshi has also worked with organizations including CNBC and The Associated Press on election-related data and coverage. The Associated Press announced in March that it would provide Kalshi with real-time US election results and race calls.
For prediction market operators, partnerships with mainstream media organizations provide another channel for distributing real-time market data. For news organizations, the integration adds a continuously updated market-based indicator alongside traditional polling and election analysis.
