The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ranked among the top five government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) in 2025 after remitting PHP5.67 billion (US$92.1 million) in dividends to the national government.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recognized PAGCOR’s contribution during the 2026 GOCC Day celebration at Malacañang Palace, presenting a certificate of recognition to Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco.
Dividend Meets Legal Requirement
The PHP5.67 billion remittance represented 50% of PAGCOR’s 2025 net income, complying with the Dividends Law, which requires GOCCs to remit at least half of their annual net earnings to the national government.
PAGCOR said the payment made it the fifth-largest contributor among the country’s 50 GOCCs for fiscal year 2025.
Supporting National Development
During the ceremony, President Marcos praised the role of GOCCs in driving national development, saying sound governance and fiscal responsibility help create opportunities without placing additional financial burdens on citizens.
Tengco said the recognition reflects PAGCOR’s continued commitment to fiscal discipline and nation-building despite global economic challenges.
He added that the agency remains focused on generating higher revenues to support government programs and contribute to the country’s long-term development.
