Spotlight Sports Group has partnered with sportsbook trading specialist Sporting Solutions to bring Upside Betting to operators worldwide.
The progressive payout football product lets customers place a single pre-match wager that remains active until the final whistle. Payouts increase as the match produces more goals, corners or cards, creating a dynamic betting experience without requiring customers to place additional wagers during the game.
Betsson Tests Upside Betting
Betsson Group launched Upside Betting across its brand portfolio during last season’s Champions League semi-finals, including the nine-goal PSG versus Bayern Munich match.
The product later covered every fixture of the 2026 World Cup. The France versus England third-place play-off produced a 10-goal match and triggered a jackpot payout for Betsson customers.
Operators can configure jackpot payouts at three levels: 10x for Defensive, 25x for Balanced and 50x for Jackpot. This flexibility allows sportsbooks to select a payout structure that fits their customer base and margin strategy.
Product Drives Player Engagement
Spotlight Sports Group said Upside Betting covers major domestic and international football leagues across all continents.
The product also generated stronger engagement during its Betsson rollout. Customers who discovered and played Upside without prominent promotion generated 109% more GGR than a comparable recreational cohort and staked 27.5% more.
They also proved 1.8 times more likely to remain active after 28 days, according to the companies.
Basketball Launch Planned
Spotlight Sports Group and Sporting Solutions plan to extend Upside Betting beyond football, with basketball scheduled to launch this month ahead of the new NBA season.
The partnership combines Spotlight’s more than 40 years of sports betting and racing experience with Sporting Solutions’ more than 30 years of sportsbook trading, modelling and pricing expertise.
Global Distribution Targets Operators
Spotlight Sports Group B2B Growth Director Rob Brown said the partnership supports the company’s strategy of combining sports betting expertise with new products for operators and their customers.
Sporting Solutions CEO Derren Maggs said the company developed the product around the challenge of pricing progressive payouts accurately across different leagues and match situations.
With the product already tested across a major international tournament, the partnership will now focus on bringing Upside Betting to a wider group of sportsbook operators through global distribution.
