Viva Sorte Bet Ends R$80m Bahia Sponsorship Ahead of 2026

Viva Sorte Bet Exits Bahia Sponsorship Early

Viva Sorte Bet has ended its role as master sponsor of Esporte Clube Bahia ahead of schedule, terminating an agreement originally set to run until December 2026. Valued at R$80 million over two years, the early exit marks a significant shift in Bahia’s commercial strategy as the club prepares for the new season.

The decision confirms that Viva Sorte Bet will no longer occupy the top sponsorship position on Bahia’s first-team kit for the 2026 campaign.

Background of the Sponsorship Deal

Bahia and Viva Sorte Bet signed the sponsorship agreement in January 2025, shortly after the club reached an amicable termination with its former betting partner, Esportes da Sorte. Under the deal, Viva Sorte Bet committed R$40 million per year, placing Bahia among the highest-earning clubs within its ownership group in terms of master sponsorship revenue.

Despite the scale of the agreement, Viva Sorte Bet has chosen to end the partnership early. While the company has not disclosed its reasons, the move definitively removes the operator from Bahia’s top sponsorship tier for 2026.

Viva Sorte Capitalização Retains Secondary Role

Although Viva Sorte Bet has stepped down as master sponsor, the group will maintain a presence at the club through Viva Sorte Capitalização. The brand will continue as a secondary sponsor, with its logo displayed on the shoulder area of Bahia’s kits.

This ongoing visibility reinforces the group’s earlier messaging around long-term partnership and brand commitment, signaling that while the primary agreement has ended, the broader commercial relationship remains intact.

Banco BMG Takes Over as Main Financial Partner

Following Viva Sorte Bet’s departure, Banco BMG has assumed the role of Bahia’s main financial sponsor for the 2026 season. The partnership involves performance-based payments linked to new bank account openings generated through club-led initiatives.

Banco BMG branding has already appeared publicly. Bahia’s U-20 team wore jerseys featuring the bank’s logo during a 5–0 victory over Inter de Limeira at the 2026 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, with the logo positioned on the upper back of the shirts.

However, Bahia has yet to officially confirm which company will fill the master sponsor position on the senior team’s jersey.

Commercial Impact and Strategic Outlook

The early termination of a high-value betting sponsorship highlights the fluid nature of Brazil’s sports sponsorship market, particularly for gambling-related partnerships. For Bahia, the development signals a period of commercial reassessment and restructuring.

Even so, the continued involvement of Viva Sorte Capitalização and the arrival of Banco BMG indicate that the club remains an attractive platform for major brands seeking visibility and association with a historic Brazilian football institution.

As the 2026 season approaches, attention will focus on how Bahia fills the open master sponsorship slot and how this transition shapes the club’s broader commercial strategy.
