Philippines gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has rolled out the country’s first-ever surety bond program, offering up to PHP1 million ($17,300) in coverage per player. The initiative, launched in partnership with Philippine First Insurance Co. Inc. (PhilFirst), applies immediately to DigiPlus platforms BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone.
Extra Security for Players
Unlike traditional insurance, the bond protects eligible player balances without requiring the purchase of a separate policy. Each qualified account enjoys protection of up to PHP1 million, giving players an added layer of security at a time when the online gambling industry faces growing scrutiny and calls for stronger safeguards.
To qualify, players must complete electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) verification, make at least one successful deposit, and remain in good standing under platform rules. Once verified, the coverage automatically applies across all DigiPlus platforms.
Commitment to Player Protection
DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio H. Tanco said the new program reflects the company’s long-term focus on customer safety.
“We are committed to putting our players first. With this surety bond, they can play confidently on BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, knowing that their funds are safeguarded,” Tanco stated.
The bond complements DigiPlus’ other support measures, including 24/7 customer service and more than 130 BingoPlus outlets nationwide. The company said these efforts strengthen player trust and reinforce its position as a leader in consumer protection.
Industry Context
The launch comes as policymakers in the Philippines debate the future of online gambling, citing potential social impacts. In response, operators continue to expand consumer protection measures in an effort to balance entertainment with responsibility.
