The European League of Football (ELF) has appointed Ingo Schiller as its new Co-CEO and CFO. He will eventually take over as the sole CEO at the end of the 2025 season, replacing current Co-Founder and CEO Zeljko Karajica.
With over 30 years of experience in sports and finance, Schiller brings a strong leadership background. He previously held executive roles at Borussia Mönchengladbach and served on the boards of the German Football League and the German Football Association. After founding his own consultancy firm in 2023, Schiller now steps into this pivotal role to oversee ELF operations.
“I see enormous potential in the European League of Football,” Schiller said. “The league has grown rapidly and excites fans worldwide, but it’s still early in its journey. I’m highly motivated to help shape its future alongside franchises and shareholders.”
Founded in 2001, ELF is Europe’s premier American football league. Over the years, it has expanded the sport’s footprint beyond North America. In May 2023, ELF signed a partnership with Genius Sports, giving the company exclusive streaming rights for the following season.
Earlier this year, the league also received a funding boost of over $10 million from David Gandler, who recently acquired Leyton Orient FC.
Karajica will continue as CEO alongside Schiller until the 2025 season ends. Afterward, Schiller will assume full leadership—a transition fully approved by the ELF board.
Commenting on the leadership change, Karajica said: “I’m glad to have him at my side this season. The league’s future is in excellent hands.”
